How do you fit a 3:2 photo on 8 × 10 paper without cutting anyone out?
Published by Print Frame Notes
Fit the entire landscape image to the 10-inch paper width. A 3:2 photograph will be 6⅔ inches high, leaving 1⅓ inches of paper above and below combined. Center it for borders of about ⅔ inch each.
Decide where the empty space belongs
Make a landscape canvas matching the paper. At 300 PPI it is 3000 × 2400 pixels. Scale a 3:2 photo proportionally to 3000 × 2000 and place it on that canvas. Centering gives 200 pixels of border at each horizontal edge. You can shift it up to leave more room below for a caption. The image still occupies the full paper width.
If the order preview offers only a fill setting, upload the padded 3000 × 2400 canvas itself. Preview all four edges and check any trim allowance for your specific product. A frame mat can hide more of the image afterward. Measure the visible opening if a face sits close to an edge.
See what an edge-to-edge version would cost
From a landscape 6000 × 4000 original, keep all 4000 pixels of height and crop the width to 5000. A centered crop removes 500 pixels from each side. If the people are grouped on the left, shift the crop to sacrifice more of the background on the right.
If the entire composition and a borderless print are both important, consider a paper shape that matches the file. A landscape 12 × 8 print has the same 3:2 shape. Check the intended frame opening before changing the order.
